Meet Craig, Reo Cragun’s alter-ego. “what it’s like to lose” is a sneak peak of what’s next for the LNRZ founder. “what it’s like to lose” foreshadows the artist and producer’s next musical chapter. 

Reviving the character from his 2018 EP Craig, Reo Cragun reintroduces a darker mood and more braggadocious attitude to his sonic palette. “I'm not a very bravado person by nature. I have a pretty simple life, to be honest. Craig is kind of the opposite of that. The side of me that’s extravagant, not afraid to express my thoughts, and has strong opinions–that's the character.”

Bridging the gap between Reo and Craig, “what it’s like to lose,” weaves between the more thoughtful, contemplative Reo and a more impulsive, in-your-face Craig.

This song was written after a trip to Pundaquit Beach in Zambales, Philippines. Being there felt magical- and being in nature inspired me to tap into that energy. I wanted to create a sound that carried a mystical energy to it that reflected my experience- exploring thick tropical ecosystems and traversing waters to neighboring islands. I wrote Clumsy back in 2020. I’m a very clumsy person and I think that clumsiness is intensified a bit whenever I’m really into a girl I have a crush on. I was watching some coming of age movie on on mute while I was laying on my couch strumming the guitar and I started singing “won’t you come and stay with me?”. I ended up writing a really honest song about a fantasy date with a girl I liked during the time who really wanted nothing to do with me lol. Typical hopeless romantic chasing an out reach lover. An ode to my clumsiness. We've been playing this song live a lot last year and people seemed to really enjoy the energy. Hope you enjoy it too.

GOODIE BAG VOL. 1: A COLLABORATION BETWEEN ALY AND BLOODY WHITE

It's been a while since the SWEETS 2 collection sold out on Sound last February.

SWEETS 2 was a collection of 30 second songs telling the story of a year in my life, the music was extremely meaningful and experimenting with time as a concept. In the bottom of the bear market we moved 770 editions in about a week. Now it's time for the next thing.

GOODIE BAGS is the next chapter.

Each individual GB is a full album squeezed into a single song. I consider each one a full collaborative project between myself and one other artist, all fit into a bite sized chunk. This format is such a natural extension after making SWEETS and SWEETS 2, and it's the music I'm most excited to show you.

For the first drop I wanted to mint my GB with Bloody White. This is some of my favorite work from him as an artist and producer, and I'm so honored that he was down to make this with me.

I'll be doing experimental releases for each of the Goodie Bags, stay tuned for more.

Thomas Geelens - She's Got The

I ‘only’ started drinking when I was around 24 years old in 2015, I met this amazing blonde girl that I thought was out of my league but then one night we kissed and I was just connected to her.
Turned out that she was ‘escaping’ a bad relationship with other people, I was one of those people, it wasn’t malicious tho, she even apologized for potentially stringing me along. She wasn’t doing that, I was stringing myself along with the fantasy of her and so we had to let each other go. She had this ethereal beauty, blonde beautiful hair, sea blue eyes, amazing smile but most of all she was so sweet, caring and fun to be around.

 ‘She’s Got The’ was written a year later when I met my then girlfriend and picked up an acoustic guitar, the song just came out of me. The chorus was the first thing and then the verses followed quickly after. 

The song had about 3 different versions before I produced this pop/80’s infused version that is the main one today. The chorus jumping from the chest voice to the head voice with the ‘she’s out there looking for love’ gives the song its unique character.

I might actually record different versions throughout my life because the song is so damn catchy and meaningful in my journey!

This song is part two of a three-part series, so any collector that minted my “Too Heavy” genesis before this drop is live gets it airdropped to them for free (and will be allow-listed for the pre-sale of my next song).
